Nearly time to open again......

We will re-open the tea room on Saturday 11th February in time for half term week. We will be open every day during the half term including Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30am. We’ll be open 7 days a week thereafter for the season.

New for 2012.... well, not totally new, we are bringing back our popular Ploughmans to the menu. Last year we did these as a special every now and again but due to popular demand we have put them back on the usual menu. We are using a Devon chutney from Otter Vale, an award winning local maker of chutneys and preserves from Budleigh Salterton. Served with cheddar cheese or devon ham, salad, pickled onions, fresh fruit, locally baked bread and butter. With all these components, they do take a little time to assemble from scratch, especially when we are busy so please do be patient when ordering. I hope it’ll be worth the wait! If you enjoy the chutney on your Ploughmans , Sandwiches or Savoury Tea we will be offering jars of the same chutney for you to buy and take home, along with some other products from the range.

Also as I mentioned in a previous post I will be offering speciality Cream Teas from time-to-time. Examples are Black Forest Cream Tea with chocolate scones and black cherry jam, Luscious Lemon Cream Tea with lemon zest scones and lemon curd, and possibly some sort of Apple, maybe Apple & Cinnamon scones with an apple conserve. All served with clotted cream of course! Keep an eye on the blackboard to see what’s on offer when you visit.

I’m really looking forward to the half term week in June, Sunday 3rd until Saturday 9th, when Dawlish will be holding a series of events throughout the week to celebrate the Queens Jubilee. Events include a Picnic in The Park, Party in The Park and the famous Dawlish Airshow.
